As far as I'm concerned, Italy and Austria fighting against each other is almost always a disaster for both. We're too close and both have strong enemies to each side. Since we're naturally the weakest nations, I've always found it best to play Italy/Austria as a close alliance. Together, we're a strong and competitive nation.
I hope you, too are interested in close cooperation. Let me know and we can discuss plans.

Dear Austria,

Hope we can maintain a constant communication throughout this game.

Our positions on the board obviously require us to be in contact especially early on. We must discuss a number of issues:

1. Galicia
Would you be happy with a DMZ zone? Or would you feel unsafe and need a standoff?
I would prefer just a DMZ, I want to move War - Ukr. Also I think a houseboat/Tri - Ven is not a good idea as Tri - Alb gives you the chance for 2 centres. Vie then can be used to defend Tri. Such moves ensure we can work together more comfortably.

2. Rumania
I would prefer it if you didn't contest me for Rumania obviously. I will probably attempt to take it in the Spring, or if not, then in the Fall. This will probably be the only balkan centre I will be interested in, and would be happy to give you the rest.

3. Alliance
Would you be interested in an immediate alliance against Turkey? I see him as a major nuisance to us both, and we certainly can do without him. R/A alliances seem quite popular, and personally I prefer them over R/T alliances. I'm also quite an Austrian sympathiser (I just played a game with Austria - the first turn was just so incredibly stressful!)

Hi Jiang,
Where in China are you? I once visited Cheng Du where my girlfriend worked teaching English in a school.
I hope Austria does very well and have told Russia and Italy that I wish them to work with you to fight Turkey. If you need specific support from them, I might be able to help by offering them something in another part of the board later on. Just let me know.

Jiang, I wanted to drop you a note to say hello and introduce myself. I amplaying Turkey in our game. As we are neighbors I thought it was important for us to talk over how we might be able to work together against our common enemies, Russia and Italy? I do not know if you have begun to talk to them or not, but of course I wanted to warn you about making sure you protect Tri. It is so very tempting for Italy to try to sneak in there from Ven.  As for me, I will be moving to Bul, of course. I would expect to see you moving to Ser. I was wondering if we might work together to make sure Russia and Italy do not crush us? A Russia-Italy alliance is very common for the mid-game, so we need to protect ourselves if we can. I suggest to set up TYR as a DMZ. If one among us would enter into TYR, it means DECLARING WAR on both the others. And the others ought to cooperate to dislodge it in TYR. How about your opinion?

Dear Russia,

About GAL, I accept your suggestion. A DMZ is a good idea.

About RUM, I don't want to contest with you. But I hope you take and hold it by a FLEET rather than a ARMY.

At last, about R/A alliance, I think the above two suggestions should be the foundation of our alliance. No unit in GAL. No army in RUM. If a unit would try to enter into GAL, or a army into RUM, it means that the alliance is broken. Do you agree?

And then I wonder that who defends BLA for you while your F SEV would move to RUM? Have you gotten a promise of a DMZ in BLA from Turkey? If you lost BLA, I believe that it is a not good news for our alliance. We need a further consideration for our plan against Turkey.

是很冷淡 可他的来信也不怎么客气。他说因为第一次玩用的奥匈所以对奥匈有感情，这种话我不太相信，也不想回应~
所以还是跟他赤裸裸的谈利害，我想这样可能比较符合西方的思维~
跟他的提议比起来，我的要价并不高。就看他接不接受了。

现在的矛盾之处在于，我既要求他在罗马尼亚只能驻扎舰队，又要求他守黑海。他只有一只舰队，如何能满足我的要求？

这个问题我想了很久，也想不出一个好的提议。这两个要求我又都不愿放弃。所以干脆把皮球踢给他，先看他如何反应。

其实我觉得吧,如果你继续要求他死守黑海的话,可以允许他把陆军派到RUM去,说实在的 RUM那里有陆军对你没什么太大的威胁.

而且,事实上,如果他真的是想和你联合对付土的话,那么RUM空虚并不是一个好的主意——因为缺少打击保加利亚的一个点，保加利亚可以随时退过去。

但是死守黑海是底线，我觉得这个能够看出来他和你合作的空间有多大——毕竟共同打击土是他提出来的，对么？

先看他如何还价吧，再决定我如何让步。如果他要和土耳其联合，也不是不可能在黑海演双簧。我也在逼土耳其进攻黑海~
总体上，我不想迅速击败俄土中的一方。我更乐意看局势陷入僵持。
