As far as I'm concerned, Italy and Austria fighting against each other is almost always a disaster for both. We're too close and both have strong enemies to each side. Since we're naturally the weakest nations, I've always found it best to play Italy/Austria as a close alliance. Together, we're a strong and competitive nation.
I hope you, too are interested in close cooperation. Let me know and we can discuss plans.

Dear Austria,
Hope we can maintain a constant communication throughout this game.
Our positions on the board obviously require us to be in contact especially early on. We must discuss a number of issues:
1. Galicia
Would you be happy with a DMZ zone? Or would you feel unsafe and need a standoff?
I would prefer just a DMZ, I want to move War - Ukr. Also I think a houseboat/Tri - Ven is not a good idea as Tri - Alb gives you the chance for 2 centres. Vie then can be used to defend Tri. Such moves ensure we can work together more comfortably.
2. Rumania
I would prefer it if you didn't contest me for Rumania obviously. I will probably attempt to take it in the Spring, or if not, then in the Fall. This will probably be the only balkan centre I will be interested in, and would be happy to give you the rest.
3. Alliance
Would you be interested in an immediate alliance against Turkey? I see him as a major nuisance to us both, and we certainly can do without him. R/A alliances seem quite popular, and personally I prefer them over R/T alliances. I'm also quite an Austrian sympathiser (I just played a game with Austria - the first turn was just so incredibly stressful!)

Hi Jiang,
Where in China are you? I once visited Cheng Du where my girlfriend worked teaching English in a school.
I hope Austria does very well and have told Russia and Italy that I wish them to work with you to fight Turkey. If you need specific support from them, I might be able to help by offering them something in another part of the board later on. Just let me know.
