1983年有一队唱Acapella的组合名为 Flying Pickets﹐
他们没有使用任何乐器﹐单用人声灌录了 Only You﹐
平地一声雷﹐震动了英国乐坛。
Flying Pickets由 Brian Hibbard创立﹐并加入了 Ken
Gregson﹑David Brett﹑Red Stripe (David Gittins)﹑
Rick Lloyd 及 Gareth Williams组成。他们本是舞台剧
演员﹐习惯以Acapella 演出1983年的耶诞﹐他们翻唱了 Yazoo 的 Only You﹐成绩
比原唱还要好﹐Yazoo 得到第2位﹐而 Flying Pickets 就
坐享冠军达 5 星期。当时听到这首歌非常惊喜﹐因为以前曾听过 10cc 的 I’m
Not In Love (1974/Mercury)﹐用人声扮合成器﹐已经觉
得很厉害﹐想不到 Flying Pickets更是连乐器也没有使用。
往后他们也出了好几张单曲﹐可是成绩每况愈下﹐到底纯人
声总会有限制吧。记得他们曾出版过精选CD ﹐可是自己就
是捨不得为了一曲而花钱﹐其后能拥有此曲﹐都是因为一张
香港出版的西洋歌曲合辑﹐对于一向很挑的笔者﹐竟是一个异数。
